Developing a Pro Commerce Module

Just wondering about the demand of having a fully integrated Pro Commerce Module. I myself find the Simple Commerce module too simple. I wanted something fully featured but easy to use. I find that the features of http://www.x-cart.com/ really complete. Almost too many settings and features that might overwhelm a regular user.
I’m trying to find an application to develop that’s in-demand here in ExpressionEngine.
Some important features: (very conservative) - Product information integrated into Weblog - Variable product options (size, colour, types, etc…) - * Update product information via Excel / CSV file - Manufacturer association - Variable payment options (not just paypal)
Any thoughts? I’m on the beginning stages of creating a module. Just wondering what features I should focus on first.
Maybe having a feature list would be great?

Umm…you are aware that the EllisLabs folks are working on a full-blown eCommerce module?
Actually haven’t heard of it and when I searched the forum I just found stuff regarding people hacking the Simple Commerce Module, customizing it to fit extra features and work with different payment processors.
Is there a link to the Full Blown eCommerce information?
It’s been on their list for quite some time. Plenty of links if you search for “eCommerce Module”. It’s always been described as a full-featured module like OScommerce and most of us expect it to come out about the time EE-2.0 is released. No dates ever given though. Yours seems to be inbetween and there might be a market for that.
Thanksa lot, I’ll do a search on that. In the meantime I’ll be standardizing some EE Module components to allow me to speed up the process in creating modules like that eCommerce one or any other module.
I imagine that if you can get a product out the door by the end of the year then you’re onto a winner 😊
PS. I know nothing about EllisLab’s release schedules.
Damn! EE 2.0 sounds like it is going to be everything the community has asked for! Seems they are listening..
