This plugin is basically an improved version of the default {categories} tag, it still shows the categories that an entry belongs to, however what makes this different is that it shows the categories in a much nicer format.
Like this: Category One, Category Two and Category Three
As I said on my blog, there is a way of doing this via PHP, but now there is a way of doing it with EE tags.
Some people may be scared of using php? 😊
Yeah, you never know… Or just not enable PHP for their templates. As I’ve said, it’s nice to have it in one convenient template, no doubt.
Ingmar, thanks for that code snippet. It’s something I’ve been looking for. FYI, to be grammatically correct, there should always be a comma before the “and” in a list of more than two items.
With the plugin you can use whatever text you want 😊
And FYI, there’s alot of disagreement about the use of a serial comma. In the proper british english anyway 😉
Depends on the use alot of the time.
Interestingly, trying to go from British English to American English (having taken classes both in Australia and the US) has a tendency to get you yelled at by professors on both sides. It is nearly impossible to “win” here. It’s not just commas, either! Semicolons apparently differ, as well. I had one professor specifically write on a paper: “You’re in America, stop using British grammar.”
However she didn’t mark me down for using “ou” rather than “o” in several circumstances. I did get marked down for utilising “s” instead of “z”.

I expect to be thoroughly chastised by Jeff for starting a sentence with ‘and’ too.
That has, albeit begrudgingly, gained acceptance over here, right along with using “them” instead of “him/her” etc. chuckles
OK, I am not going to get involved here, English being foreign language for me. Just use in a way you personally deem correct, with or without comma 😊
The plugin url in EE wiki doesn´t work. Can someone fix it?
I will upload a new version to this forum when I get a chance. (I need to find it)

Any ideas why the old php version doesn’t work with EE 1.6.3? It gives an error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_LNUMBER in /biz/site/core/core.functions.php(637) : eval()’d code on line 69
That error usually means that you have a variable starting with a number, which isn’t allowed.
I didn’t write the standard php version.
