Extension Idea - Custom Fields Default Value

I found myself in a “copy and paste” nightmare recently adding over a hundred individual contacts that had the same values in a few of the fields and became curious if there was an extension out there that allows you to set a “default value” for specific publishing fields?

I did come across Mark Hout’s “duplicate entry” extension; very helpful, but I feel by setting my own “default value” for a specific field would be much simpler and efficient for this type of situation.

I apologize in advance for the post if something like this is already available.
