"Template Management with images" extension

Just wanted to say that this plugin is awesome! Really it’s something that should be in EE by default 😛.

I noticed that your extension doesn’t work with EE 1.5. It doesn’t show the new Template Manager link, the authentication icon on templates or the default weblog group. I went ahead and updated the extension since I use it all the time with clients. I hope you don’t mind.

I’ve attached a ZIP file with the updated extension and all necessary files. I hope I didn’t miss anything.

As you know, the extension uses the ‘template_manager_start’ hook which only allows for a complete rewrite of the Extension Manager page. With all the new stuff added to this page in EE 1.5 the extension needs to be rewritten… thank you for doing that!

I’ll look into it later, maybe we can make this thing backwards compatible with at least 1.4

nice extension. would like it if all the icons were the same size or centered though. right now, based on some of the screen shots that have been posted, rss will force the type over to the right.

You can easily replace the images yourself… 😊

Anyway, I quickly made you 2 smaller images, see attachment.

great extension! will it work for other language control panels if i just drop the “lang.template_images.php” file into the other language folders? or would something more substantial have to be done?

If you keep it in the “English” folder it will also be used for other languages…

If you want to translate it you can make a copy of the language file, translate it to say… French and put it in your “French” language folder.

Just installed this after having forgotten about it for a long time and it is working with 1.6.8. Thanks for a great extension.

I have a suggestion:

Perhaps it would be possible to add up and down arrows, such as it can be found at

CP Home > Admin > Weblog Administration > Category Groups > Category Management

in order to be able to change template order within each template group.

Currently it is possible to change template group order but not the order of the templates. It is always better to have a list in some logical order instead of alphabetical order.

First let me tell you that this extention is very nice. The only thing that prevent me from using in one of my biggest project is that when I’m using it with MSM it shows all the template group instead of only the template group related to the current site. Do you have any idear as to why it does that?
