In conjunction with Slack becoming our central location for the community we’ve started the semi-regular process of asking a ‘Question of the Day’. Recently, the question asked was “What’s one little thing you would change about the ExpressionEngine Control Panel?” Needless to say, this led to a lot of conversation and suggestions; some of which were little changes while others were rather large.
All in all there were two that came up far more often then the others:
While we’re currently feature locked for ExpressionEngine version 6.0, I’m happy to share that responsive Grid fields will make it into the ExpressionEngine 6.0 release. The ability to clone entries has been added to the 6.x roadmap (meaning it’ll be included at some point after the 6.0 release).
Much, but not all, of the other feedback has also been addressed as part of the control panel user experience overhaul that’s in progress. The new control panel, along with a few other strategic features being introduced in ExpressionEngine 6.0, will set the stage for the next era of ExpressionEngine.
If you’re interested in some of the other feedback we received or are interested in sharing your own, jump into Slack and say hello!
