I just spent a few days trying to get sIFR to work in wordpress. I finally got success with this screencast - it’s not wordpress specific so should still help you.

Hi,

I had good luck with the jQuery sIFR plugin. You need a few pieces, but it’s less work overall. Please note, this is for sIFR 2, not 3. And I recommend using on online sifr generator to make your swf file.

P.S. All sIFR I have tried has been VERY PICKY. Any path, setting, etc. will screw it up. Make sure to triple-check everything.

I’m partial to sIFR 3.0, I think it’s easier to configure and a little more centralized (sorta) and seems less finicky on the page. I usually add the sifr-config.js in EE, as well as any sIFR related CSS files. I put the fonts in /flash/whatever.swf or /fonts/whatever.swf Basically, I call the fonts at the root level, which seems to make it a lot easier to get everything running smoothly.

A recent site using sIFR http://peaceloveandmomminess.com the config file: http://peaceloveandmomminess.com/sifr-config/

Oh, and the online sifr font generator is here: http://www.sifrgenerator.com/

Hi,

Were you able to get long lines to wrap well? I have <h2>s that are rather lengthy and need to wrap.

Yeah, they seem to wrap fine. It’s the sIFR 3.0 that made it possible.

This page has an extra long line that wraps in a tight space just fine: http://peaceloveandmomminess.com/green_living/

What @4midori said. Use the jQuery plugin, it’ll save you loads of time.

Except that (in my opinion) sIFR 3.0 works better, and you won’t find yourself fighting it all the time. It takes just a bit less to set up the jQuery plugin, but then I end up fighting sIFR the whole time. That, and I’ve had a few instances of conflicts with the jQuery plugin. I don’t recall what it was, so take my disparagement with a grain of salt. Oh, I know what it was, in a few rare instances, we had trouble with the jQuery sIFR plugin conflicting with the PNGFix plugin (which has its own annoying conflicts with other stuff.) In the cases of both of those plugins, I ended up finding more consistency just including the technologies the standard way rather than through jQuery.

Anyway, ymmv, those are just my experiences.
