The credit for this plugin code goes to Joe Watkins at http://www.thatgrafix.com (http://thatgrafix.com/php_detect/). All I did was take the code and make it into an EE plugin.
If the user is viewing your site with IE6, a box is displayed telling the user that they are using an outdated browser and provides a link to download Firefox. This makes use of jQuery to allow the user to close the box.
Known issues: Box doesn’t stay closed so every time a user with IE6 browses to a new page, the warning appears.
You also might want to open the plugin and pull out the css and the javascript functions and place them in your css and js files.
To use the plugin, just put the tag {exp:ietester:testie} where you want the warning box to show.
