Hi - I’m wrestling with whether or not I want to deal with a WYSIWYG. I’d rather go with something like Markitup. I have a quick question about the Markitup extension: does it require that you manually place tags around each paragraph? Or am i just completely not getting it?

Thanks!

Personally for my last couple of projects I used the textile plugin along with the Textile helper. it’s dead easy to use and it also allows you to add new buttons if you like.

Like any textarea in EE, whether or not you wrap the paragraphs is dependent on the field formatting you’ve chosen for that Markitup textarea. If the formatting is “none” (meaning EE leaves it alone) then you need to use P tags yourself. However, if the field is set to Textile, XHTML, or Markdown, then the paragraphs should be wrapped automatically.

Also, MD Markitup is an extension, not a plugin, so maybe your question would be easier to find in the Extensions area of the forums!
