I’ve got a weblog with a custom field. The formatting on the field is set to “none”. When I display it, the value is a URL. I don’t want it automatically putting the <a> tags around the value because I’m using the value in another plugin I wrote.

However, that plugin keeps failing. When I look at the debugging, it shows me that the value being passed is surrounded by <a> tags.

Is there some way I can turn that off? This template isn’t really going to be displaying data, so I’m not terribly worried about the way that it’s displaying.

Check: Admin › Weblog Administration › Weblog Management › Edit Weblog Preferences

Make sure

Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?

is set to “no”
