FF FieldFrame Matrix breaks with multibyte characters

Japanese characters, and maybe other languages, don’t seem to be supported in FF FieldFrame Matrix. Writing Japanese characters, then clicking Upload, followed by revisiting the entry in the CP gives me the following errors, with the matrix fields cleared:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /Applications/XAMPP/website/system/extensions/fieldtypes/ff_matrix/ft.ff_matrix.php on line 451 Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /Applications/XAMPP/website/system/extensions/fieldtypes/ff_matrix/ft.ff_matrix.php:451) in /Applications/XAMPP/website/system/extensions/ext.lg_htaccess_generator_ext.php on line 672

Yes, for the second error, I have the LG htaccess generator installed. Enabling LG Meta also threw some errors, which I can paste is needed.

FieldFrame 1.1.2 installed.

When I click “Upload” and look at the preview text, all Japanese text is replaced by “???”, so I’m guessing it’s an encoding problem. I did not have this problem with LG Data Matrix, if that hint can help.

Thank you.

P.S. Is there a Forum for FF FieldFrame, or an official thread?

I found the solution, from Brandon Kelly himself:

In Weblog Administration > Global Weblog Preferences, enable “Automatically Convert High ASCII Text to Entities”
