Ok, I can fairly accurately reproduce this error. Install the extension, changing the settings accordingly. Create new MSM site, and go into the extension settings for that site, you will note that firstly, the settings here are default; not reflecting the changes you made for the ‘master’ site. Anyway, you don’t even need to change anything here, just hit save/submit.

Notice: unserialize() [function.unserialize]: Error at offset 44972 of 65535 bytes in /path/to/system/extensions/ext.lg_tinymce.php on line 1097

Notice: unserialize() [function.unserialize]: Error at offset 44972 of 65535 bytes in /path/to/system/core/core.extensions.php on line 218

The serialized string, for all hooks, as saved in the database will now not unserialize, it’s fubar’d;

So, this problem still exists after 2 years, it just happened to me. I did almost exactly the same scenario above, however I did change the settings. Solution?

What I had to do was replicate the settings I had for the ‘master’ site into the extension files.
