Hi,

I am trying to figure out if Expression Engine is compatible with MariaDB database?

We are in the process of moving our website to a newer server which have MariaDB instead of MySql. I was told by our hosting company that it should work. As far as I can tell MariaDB is a clone of MySql and support the same PHP/mysql commands, so I don’t expect it to be any problems. MariaDB: https://mariadb.org/

Just curious if anyone her run EE on a MariaDB database, or if someone have tried and experienced any issues trying?

We are using EE version 2.10.2 with Multiple Site Manager version 2.1.7.

Thanks, Knut

I run EE 2.10.1 and 3.0.6 on CentOS 7 with MariaDB 5.5.44 and all is working fine. Hope this helps, Ingo

MariaDB is a drop in replacement for MySQL that is more performant. The agency I was recently employed by used MariaDB for all of our EE sites for the two-ish years I was there without any problems.
