Using the GRID

I am using the GRID field as described in the gallery example in EE’s manual. In an entry it works perfect for showing multiple image thumbs related to the large images through an ID in the a(href) tag. ( i am using a css-only lightbox) BUT ofcourse I want to have a gallery page also with ALL the entries thumbs available from these grid. Showing this is not a problem but the grid only counts the rows from one entry so my pagination of these rows counts only the available images in one entry. Is there a way to combine all the entries rows in one large grid for example? Seems to me an obvious ‘wannahave’?
