I’m running EE 3.1.4 I was developing a site on a dev server… at that time, Search was working properly, I then moved the site to the live server for launch about a week & a half ago and just discovered that when you use the search tool, all it does is returns you to the home page…
I have checked the Search Logs and there are no searches since 3/1 - which is the day before I took the site live. I know people have tried to use it since then.
I’ve been through all the user groups and they are all set to have access to search.
I’m out of ideas… anyone have thoughts on what I might be missing?
The site is http://roundtablelearning.com if you want to look. The search is in the menu on the top at the right.
Thanks Russ
So I’m still struggling with this issue. I’ve been through everything… cleared the Cache, even upgraded from 3.1.4 to 3.2 hoping that might shake something loose, have been googling it… but when you fill a search into the simple search form it simply takes you back to the homepage…
Seems like it would be a configuration issue - bad path or something in the CMS but I’ve been unable to track it down.
Like I said earlier… it did work on the dev server I had it on prior to launch, but since then it hasn’t.
Also, should I be able to see “search” as a plugin in the Add-on manager? I don’t think so, but thought it might be worth asking.
Anyone have any suggestions? I’m really scratching my head here…
Russ
So I resolved my issue. When the client added the a records to point to the new site, they set it up with the www prefix on the URL. I set all my sites up without it… once I changed the site URL to www.roundtablelearning.com from roundtablelearning.com in the URL & path settings, it all worked as expected again.
