Thumbnails not showing up in publish or edit

In my file manager / file upload preferences, I have all of my upload directories setup correctly. If I add an image to an entry it works. However, there are no thumbnails. The thumbnails are in the the directory it created but they do not show up under edit or publish when I go to add. It is the default placeholder. I have run the folder synch. and as I mentioned the thumbnails are in the folder that the system created. The only thing I can figure is that when I originally created the folder, I FTP all of the images into the folder and then synched. What am I doing wrong?

Is it the same as this bug report about image manipulations no longer being accessible?

No, that is not the same. I will attach images to illustrate my point.

The thumb nails do not show up. First Image: Shows my File upload directory and folder address: Second Image: My directory with images and the _thumbs folder created by EE Third Image: Content > Edit > adding an image to entry, no thumbnails appear.

What am I doing Wrong?

In the file upload manager, in the folder location, I was using {site_url}/ before the folder address. So it was pring out {site_url}/folder/image.jpg. I t was how I was setting up the folder location address.
