Moving my server is giving me a 500 error

How Do I?

When I move the server to a new machine (same domain etc), I’m getting a 500. I even tried uploading a clean copy of EE (the very latest) for a fresh install - it gets through the admin wizard for config and then throws a 500 when I hit the “install” button. There’s nothing useful in my Apache logs.

How do I go about troubleshooting what’s going on?

This is a server (configuration?) issue. Talk to your sysadmin or check the error logs again, perhaps after increasing the reporting level. This is probably not an EE issue as such.
