Embed latest tweet in timeline into EE3 template

Subject says it all: I am looking for the best way to embed a single twitter message, namely the latest tweet from a given timeline, into my site. There used to be a ton of plugins for this, if I remember, but none of them seem to work with EE3. All things being equal I’d rather not use the Twitter’s Javascript-based approach.
