Restrict members to categories

Hi,

I’m looking at developing a site where I need to assign content editors to categories. Using the structure below as an example, I’d like to assign 1 member to category 1 and only allow them to add/edit content and sub categories within their assigned category.

I would then need to add different admins to each of the other categories, again only giving them access to sub categories and entries within the category they are assigned.

Category 1
      sub cat 1
            content
      sub cat 2
            content
      sub cat 2
            content
Category 2
      sub cat 1
            content
      sub cat 2
            content
      sub cat 2
            content
Category 3
      sub cat 1
            content
      sub cat 2
            content
      sub cat 2
            content

Is this possible using the built in members module? If not could you suggest a good 3rd party module that I could use to achieve this?
