Error upgrading from 2.7.2 to 3.3.3

How Do I?

I started to follow the upgrade instructions here: https://docs.expressionengine.com/latest/installation/upgrade_from_2.x.html

After attempting to run the install wizard I got this message…

Exception Caught

SQLSTATE[42S21]: Column already exists: 1060 Duplicate column name ‘protect_javascript’: ALTER TABLE exp_templates ADD protect_javascript char(1) DEFAULT ‘n’ NOT NULL

mysqli_connection.php:119

Trying to install this on a dev subdomain running php 5.4, fileinfo extension was installed today on our VPS server.

If anyone knows how to resolve this please let me know asap, thank you!
