Reading Cookie in a IF statement

I am trying to use the GitHub’s Ellis Lab cookie (https://github.com/EllisLab/Cookie) and it is returning the value of the cookie as expected.

However is it possible to be used in a IF statement as to make a decision based on the cookie content?
