Issue upgrading from 2.11.3 to 3.4.5

When running the installer (admin.php) the update runs and incrementally steps up through versions as it should, but when it’s on 3.0.5 the installation just stops, then the screen goes completely white. Nothing in the source code either. I’ve went through all the steps on upgrading from EE 2 to 3, three times already and I keep getting the same result.

Any ideas on what can cause this? Anyone have similar issues with their upgrades?
