How Do I?

I just updated expressionengine for a client who host their site at PowWeb.

  1. AFTER THE INSTALL I got a notice on the CP home page that : Your ExpressionEngine installation’s version (052) is not consistent with the reported version (2.10.3). Please update your installation of ExpressionEngine again.

  2. SO I UPDATED, AND GOT: Your ExpressionEngine installation’s version (0.0.0) is not consistent with the reported version (2.10.3). Please update your installation of ExpressionEngine again.

  3. OK, I TRIED TO UPDATE ONE MORE, BUT GOT: A Database Error Occurred Error Number: 1060 Duplicate column name ‘can_search’ ALTER TABLE exp_member_groups ADD COLUMN can_search char(1) NOT NULL default ‘n’ Filename: updates/ud_0_00_09.php Line Number: 112

  4. SINCE THEN: I discovered that that PowWeb uses a cache control process to turn caching of files off or on, and I can select how long you want to cache different file types, HTML, CSS, Scripts, Images (No PHP). I’m wondering if there is a delay for the PHP files and that’s why I got message (1.) & (2.) Everything was set for 1 hr.

  5. SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT TO DO I’ve gone into the CP and everything seems to be working fine, updates are taking, and I’m not getting any errors with the exception of the statement on the CP Home Page. And the website is working fine.

I’m wondering if I should do anything regarding the update, or the Database error. If not, is there anything that I can do to get rid of the message (2.) And Will I have any issues with future updates given message (3.)?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers, Ted
