How Do I?

Hi,

It has been a long while since I did anything web-related… so I am a bit rusty.

I would like to move my old EE site (the config file says app_version 290…) to a subdomain to keep it somewhat available, and be able to start fresh on the main domain.

I tried to follow the doc procedure, but all I get is a blank page.

I created a subdomain: v1.mydomain.com

and updated index.php and admin.php from $system_path = ‘./system’; to $system_path = ‘../v1/system’;

Is there something else I need to change?

Thank you in advance for your time and advices, have a nice day.

I am really stuck…

I think I tried all the permutations possible of

../v1/system

./v1/system

../system

with ../v1/system I get a blank page, and anything else throw me an error message saying I need to fix my path “Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php”

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

bump - I’m having the same problem. I’ve checked and triple checked all my settings and zilch.

I am thinking you don’t want to change the system path at all, since that is relative to the file you’re editing which should also be located in the subdomain. If it’s not working, the trick might be the configuration of the .htaccess file. I had my subdomain site working but unfortunately after a database reloading it is no longer, so can’t help you much.
