Preserving UI state when saving entries

One issue that I’ve always wished were solved in EE is that when you save an entry, it takes you back to when you first open an entry versus where you were when you hit save.

For example, I have a channel layout with 5 different tabs for content, and I’m in the videos tab, after I hit Save, it goes back to the Publish tab.
