Hi, I’m using EE 3.5.14 and installed the current Freeform Pro. Since then I get two warnings at the door of the page when I’m logged in. I’ve tried logging in and logging out, clearing the caches, etc. but whenever I’m logged in these warnings appear. This includes when I view the website though, fortunately, only when I’m logged in (my heart sank when I first saw the warnings on the actual website). I’ve tried uninstalling Freeform Pro but the warnings remain. The warnings are below. Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.

============= Warning

Unknown: open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_0u8u74tgtphh03n1s8347mb4i6, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13)

Unknown, line 0 show details

======================

====================== Warning

Unknown: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/lib/php/session)

Ok, I did some googling and it seems that the /var/lib/php/session permissions must have been changed or become corrupted. I’m not competent enough to SSH the server directly and sort things that way so I used the Plesk control panel to change the session save path to a custom setting. I have changed it to the /tmp directory and everything works fine now. For those who know more about these things, is what I have done ok? In other words, please warn me if I have compromised security. Many thanks.

ps. Apologies if this is no longer EE specific but I’m pretty certain the problem arose as a consequence of installing Freeform.

Glad you got it fixed, idwatts. It’s PHP/environment specific, my guess as to why it showed up only after installing Freeform is that they use PHP’s native session handling, which revealed the environmental issue.
