Occasional duplicate entries

Hi folks,

I have a client who occasionally gets duplicates when they save a new entry. The ID of the duplicate entry is always sequential (eg #3387 and #3388). The timestamp is the same.

It’s as though they are hitting Save twice, but that’s not it.

The entry_dates are identical, but the edit_dates are fractionally different:

Does this ring any bells? I’m stumped by it.

The only clue might be that the site is hosted across 2 load-balanced servers, with a 3rd server for the database.

I should mention its an older version of EE: v2.9.2
