If you are trying to paste in some content while editing, there’s nothing more fun than having the content field jerked down the page just as you hit paste and you end up pasting into the wrong part of your content. Or when you are in the middle of selecting some content and the field jerks down unexpectedly.
Surely there’s some way to have this Autosave notification appear without jerking the form fields below it jerk down like some annoying banner ad just popped in.
Thanks for your consi
deration.
Never had that happen, and don’t see how/why it would. What browser are you using, and have you tried disabling extensions (browser extension, that is)?
Also, you okay?
Thanks for your consi<br> deration.
Hm … seems I can’t attach images in this forum. But if I could, I would show you why I did that. In the UI that I see here in the forums, the word is split with the first half on one line and the second under it on the second, which is kind of what happens when publishing in EE since version 3 when the autosave notification was implemented this way.
It’s displaying like a block element that’s just forced into the top of the publishing window, and that forces fields below it down about 25 pix. That’s enough to cause some annoying cut-and-paste situations. It’s also frustrating when you are trying to place the cursor into a sentence, and when you do, it’s actually two lines above where you had positioned it before the click.
This isn’t a browser specific behavior from what our experience has been. I bought this up back when it first showed up in v3 and am just mentioning it again as it still bugs me and a few of my clients have asked if I can turn it off, so I know it’s not just me.
I’m fine, thanks for asking.
I’ve submitted an issue to address the auto save issue.
As for the
situation, please send me a screenshot to [email protected] so I can address that in the forums.
