Make Default Sort of Edit Entries Alpha Rather Than By Most Recent Date

EE 3.5.15 I have a small team updating the items in one of our channels (a plant database) and they are sorting alphabetically using the following link, and enter when they login using this same URL in the Custom URL field for their Member profile:

They are each assigned a set of pages. The problem is, though entering it is sorted correctly, when they click “Save and Close” it returns them to the date sorting, which is causing confusion and problems.

Is there a way to change the default sorting for a channel’s edit listing? Or even globally? I hoped there might be a “secret config” entry that might do this, but can find no reference to such a thing at https://docs.expressionengine.com/v3/general/system_configuration_overrides.html.
