Compare difference between current date and future entry date.

Hi, I’m wanting to find how long is left to a furure entry and if there is less than 7 days to the entry I would like to add a CSS class to a div. I’ve looked at Relative Dates to show how long is left but not sure how to compare to today’s date.

I have a channel where I publish future events. I’m using the publish date as the start date of the event.
When the current date is a week from the start of the event I’d like to highlight the event a nearly starting.
