Hi,
I am using the latest versions of both LG TinyMCE and EE and when have LG tinymce set for the single custom field that I have assigned in a specific weblog.
The problem is that when I submit, the content in the field with LG tinymce does not save and I get an error message that says that the field is required.
Any ideas? Thanks
Thanks for moving this post Robin. I’m still fairly new to EE and didn’t even scroll down on the forum page to realize that there was an Extension Forum!
The problem was that I had Tiny MCE Extension for EE (v.1.0.1) installed as well as LG TinyMCE (v.1.2.1). Once I uninstalled Tiny MCE Extension for EE it worked fine.
I disabled the tinyMCE extension for EE and I still don’t see the “lg_mceEditor” as a field type. Do I have to completely have to remove the extension?
update: I have completely removed the tinyMCE for EE extension(e.g deleted the files form the server), leaving only the LG TinyMCE
I’m following the documentation, and I don’t get LG TinyMCE as a field type to choose.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Jim
From my recent experience:
You don’t need the tinyMCE Extension is you are using the LG_tinyMCE (v1.2.1) extension. The field type will actually be WYSIWYG, not LG tinyMCE. Make sure the permissions for the tinymce directory are 755 or 777. Finally, the default path to the tinymce directory in the extension settings assume you placed the tinymce folder within the scripts folder in your root directory. If that’s not the case, you have to correct the path settings. Once that’s correct you should be in business.
I have completely removed the tiny MCE ext for EE (deleted all the files from the server) All that is installed is LG_tinyMce v1.2.1 The path to tinyMCE is correct. I just changed the permissions on the tinymce folder to 777 (was 755) The field type selected is WYSIWYG.
I still get no editor in the field??
Can’t figure this one out.
Could having the tinyMCE ee installed first be causing a conflict. I’m going to try this on another installation that has never had either installed.
Thanks,
James
