I inherited a client’s hosting package. They have MT’s Dedicated Virtual package that they will only be using for their site. There will be no other sites on it.

I’ve seen a few threads about EE and performance issues with MT’s grid servers. Does anyone have any experience with MT’s (dv) Dedicated Virtual Server package?

The only problem I’ve had with EE on my dv, has been with the MSM and the Plesk (I assume it’s plesk?) open_basedir restrictions. Basically doesn’t allow you to use the code in a different directory, which is how MSM works.

were you able to bypass the open_basedir restrictions using their documented workaround?

http://kb.mediatemple.net/questions/514/(dv)+HOWTO:+Enable+PEAR{47}Set+open_basedir.

I tried it but I’m still getting that error. I put in a request to MT support staff and wait to see what they say.
