Bypassing the view entry screen

The View Entry screen — which follows the “Update” button in the Edit mode — is not very useful. Even though I’ve created a Live Look template, the View entry screen shows up.
I’ve used the Publish Improvements plug in to make “Quick Save” the actual Save button (and disable the others). Unfortunately, Multi-Relation and Playa both drop selections with Quick Save, so I can’t use Publish Improvements.
Are there any other options to bypass the View Entry screen?
seajay, there are no built-in options to do this. As you’ve seen, it can be done with an extension, though, so I’m moving that to the relevant forum for further brainstorming. Alternatively, you could always make a feature request, of course.
