We have recently implemented Mark Hout’s multi-relationship extension (v 1.06) on our EE website. In addition to filtering the displayed (multi-relational) items by section, we also need to filter these items by category. The purpose is to restrict the available items for publishing to a specific category for the field.
The ‘Edit Section Entries’ interface performs the functionality that we are looking for. Rather than have our user’s guess, we want to perform the filtering when the custom field is created.
Is it possible to filter by category when creating custom fields? Has anyone implemented this type of filtering using the multi-relationships extension? If so, what hooks in the ee code do we need to utilize?
I am not sure but, I think I have the same problem:
I have a weblog where I store all my files, like a file manager. There are several types of files: downloads, newsletters, flyers, etc.
Then I have another weblog with web entries that need to relate to the files, so I created a Relationship field for Entries.
The problem is that this relationship field will list all the files in the Weblog Files and I need to be able to filter the list depending on the type of file, for example, show only flyers.
The file types are currently selected from a custom field, but they could be set as categories if that helps.
Any ideas or plugins available???
I am also using the Multirelation plugin and I would need to implement this feature there as well.
Thank you
