Hi there,
I’m working on a real estate project where there will be a few different types of properties available (short and long term rentals, sales, land for sale etc). I figured I could set up a separate weblog for each property type and have custom fields associated with each.
The rentals properties will need an extra element to them - an availability calendar. This is the bit that I’m totally stuck on. A separate calendar would be necessary for each rental property. My initial thoughts are that it might be easier to set up a separate table in MySQL for this and to have a module developed to handle this.
My question is, does anyone know if anything like this has already been developed for EE, and if not would anyone be interested in helping me out with the development of such a module.
There is a budget for this - I just need to find someone that can develop the module with me.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts or can help.
Cheers
Jim
I’m also working on a similar project that needs the same functionality and racking my brain as to to how to do it with EE. The Repeet plugin won’t work for my needs unfortunately.
However I’m thinking along the lines of adding 366 date fields to a weblog and using that data to generate the availability info - but then 366 fields might be too much for EE to handle?
Good to know that EE can handle that about the amount of fields Ingmar. For the site I’m building, logged in users can add their own entries so they need to be able to specify many date ranges, not just one “to and from” date range.
From what I am thinking each day field would have a booked/available option - I could then easily create an availability table using conditionals
