Is Mark Huot’s File app supposed to create a link to the uploaded file automatically on the webpage, or is that up to the admin to set up? I’m under the impression that the link was supposed to be automatic. Currently the app is uploading the file (works great) and it is adding the full path to the file on the webpage without it being linked. Can someone provide input? Thanks for any/all responses.

Hi Neal,
No all the File extension extension does is store the path to your file. It is then up to you to spit it out in your template using whatever HTML code you want to do so with.
Basically once the file is uploaded the field spits out the path much the same as if you had just created a custom text field and just pasted in the link yourself. You will still need to create the required code to create a link or whatever else you want to do with it yourself from within the template.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes,
Mark
No problem at all.
If you need any more help with it then just holler across. I’ve used the File extension a few times now although it really is quite easy once you get around the differences in coding depending upon if you are uploading a single file or multiple files.
Hope it all goes well for you.
Best wishes,
Mark
