Hello, I’m a new EE user and am having a problem similar to the one in this resolved thread. I’m running EE 1.6.4 with Mutli-Site Manager and the Solspace Tag extension version 2.1.2. I initially installed on a development server and everything was fine, but when I moved to the production server, editing an entry becomes unacceptably slow. The problem goes away if I disable the Tag module. The only other extension I am running is FCKeditor.

My understanding from this Solspace thread (and the threads linked there) is that the problem possibly due to Tag’s ajax script loading slowly, and that seems likely in my case as well. On my dev server http://172.00.00.00/index.php?S=0&ajax=tag_js loads in a second or two, but on production http://blogadmin.example.com/index.php?S=0&ajax=tag_js takes 15-20 seconds to load. It does eventually load without error. In my EE config.php, ‘cp_url’ is set to http://blogadmin.example.com/index.php. (I’m using a dummy IP and domain obviously.)

I know Ellis Labs doesn’t provide support for 3rd party modules, and I will bring this up over at Solspace as well, but since it’s a problem with EE loading a dynamic JS file, I’m hoping somebody here might be able to give me some clue. Even if someone could explain better what people posting in the others threads did to solve the issue, I’d appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hi, Dan - I would very much encourage you to bring this up on the Solspace forums, since this is their extension and they’re most able to help you troubleshoot problems with it.

Thank you!

In the mean time, I’ll move this over to the Extensions forum for additional community help.

Interesting…I just noticed it only happens when I’m logged in as a super admin.
