member group posting problem - maybe "structure" is causing problem?

i have an admin group i created with limited ability to post to certain weblogs. when she logs in to post, she gets an error at the top of the publish page

Error: You must select a valid template for displaying this page.

i thought maybe the “structure” module could be the culprit; it’s a new module and i’m using it on this site (not for this particular weblog however) … … just in case, i gave them access to the structure module, and yet it still doesn’t appear in their publish tabs. help. has anyone seen this error before?
