Regular expression and show_full_control_panel_end

I want to build an extension that adds the Weblog Description to the Publish Tab drop-down, “Choose a weblog to post in” form (/system/index.php?c=publish), and “Weblog Management” form (/system/index.php?C=admin&M=blog_admin&P=blog_list).

I have looked at Mark Huot’s ext.hidden_weblogs.php and believe that I it is a good model for how to do what I want; however, I am extremely week in regular expressions. Well, that is an understatement. I’m completely ignorant when it comes to regular expressions.

Would the show_full_control_panel_end be the right hook to use?

If so, I need help in constructing the regular expressions to find and replace the html that displays each of these.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
