I actually had to disable the LG TinyMCE Plugin for now but came across this: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewreply/481323/. Maybe force the issue of where to search and use “search_in parameter” in the opening tag.
Hope this helps and works.
Hi All,
I too am experiencing this issue - and in the Control Panel’s Edit tab when looking for text within a custom WYSIWYG “body” field.
I’ve updated to: ExpressionEngine: 1.6.7 TinyMCE: 3.2.1.1 LG TinyMCE: 1.3.3
When I change this custom field to “Textarea” the search works great. But when set as “WYSIWYG” no results are returned.
This is kinda big as the website is for a newspaper and the database is currently populated with 35,000+ news stories (dating back to ‘95) and the client would need to search the body field.
Any assistance from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Dominic
Just a historical note, I’m on:
EE 1.6.7 Build: 20090122 LG TinyMCE: 1.2.1 TinyMCE: 3.1.0
Yeah, old versions, but the search works with wysiwyg fields. This is a good reminder for me, not to upgrade anything until I hear back from this thread … or at least go test it on a staged site first.
Hi Manoj and All,
No, I’ve had no luck in getting results. The “workaround” I suggested to my client in the interim has been to use the site’s front-end Advanced Search (which is set to search “everywhere”) and find the title of the entry that has the content they are looking for. Then use the title within the Control Panel, to find/edit the entry. Not very great.
Any updates, Leevi?
Many thanks, Dominic
Hi Leevi, hi all, the following 2 sites do not return search results in wysiwyg field. Search for the custom field is set to ON. CP > Edit > type in keywords > select search title and entries and no results.
Another site, latest, greatest: EE 1.6.7 Build 20090320 LG TinyMCE (v.1.3.3) TinyMCE 3223
Another site, old: EE 1.6.7 Build 20090122 LG TinyMCE (v.1.2.1) TinyMCE 310
Funny. I know I posted above that it worked but now I’m not sure where and what site and what versions were they.
Leevi/Anyone?
If we pool our $$ together, how much to get this fixed? 😊
Also would love a workaround for this.
EE 1.6.7 Build 20090211 LG TinyMCE (v.1.3.3) TinyMCE 3.2.1.1
edit - adding the search_in parameter to the form tag and setting it to “everywhere.” Did solved this for me. Didn’t realise that by default EE only searches titles, unless you specify otherwise (using the search_in parameter).
Thanks peteburgess
