Question for module developers - good starting point?

I’ve just taken on an EE project that will require an entirely new module to be developed (similar to a shopping cart, but integrated with admin editing and used to generate quotes and invoices).

Are there any really good modules that are nice to use as starting points for developing a new one? I’d be looking for something that contains examples of generating, filling and saving forms; different views of data on the admin side (summary/lists and individual db table rows); and generally well executed code.

Any suggestions? 😊

Freeform’s the first one that springs to mind. It has frontend forms (obviously), backend forms for creating fields, lists of entries with filtering, and as far as quality of code goes I don’t think you can go wrong with Solspace add-ons.
