Hi,

I’m using LG FileManager to retrieve file URLs. In this particular case, I am retrieving full URLs, i.e.,

somesite.com/something/somefile.gif

Every time I save a new entry, EE wraps it in tags on output. I’ve seen this bug before, and I did this:

  • Changed field type to textarea, XHTML formatting
  • Changed field type to textarea, NONE formatting
  • Changed it back to LG File Manager

This works, but every time I make an entry, it goes back to adding tags around the field.

Ideas?

Thx,

Ben

Hi Ben,

I often experience this problem too.

I haven’t found a fix, however I tend to use the ‘HTML Stripper’ plugin as a temporary solution to the problem - it’s not ideal, but it usually works fine.

For example: {exp:html_strip}{your_file_field}{/exp:html_strip}

This will remove the tags from the field output.

I’m having the problem. Same as you described. It happens only on new entries and we are forced to toggle the custom field settings to update all previous posts to “none” and then back again to filemanager.

The exp:html_strip plugin, while a valid workaround, won’t play nice with the exp:imgsizer plugin we are using the manage all of our photos and their various sizes.

This really sounds like there’s something buggy in the LG Filemanager extension or EE.

Anyone else have a solution other than exp:html_strip to actually fix the problem instead of working around it? I’m stumped.
