LG Multi Language with separate domains?

I’m wondering if anyone knows if there is a good way to get LG Multi Language to work with different domains.

I know it works with subdomains and segments, but I want it to work with a totally separate domain (so both domains would be pointing to the same EE install).

Anyone tried this or know if it would work?
