Issues with the Structure Module

I’m having issues with the structure module and third level navigation:

If there is only one page at a second level then when selected the third level doesn’t display. However if I add another second level item and visit the same second level page as before the third level is displayed.

So the structure below only displays the second level page and omits the third (.here denotes which page is being viewed):

top level -second level (.here) –third level

If I add another second level

top level -second level (.here) –third level -second level 2

The third level is now included

I have attached a couple of grabs to try and help explain.
