I’m having the strangest problem… As soon as I make NGen File Field I can then no longer create a new weblog post with the linked Weblog. I can still edit posts with the NGen File Field activated, but I can’t create a new post. Any ideas?
I moved it from my local testing server to a 3rd party hosting service and all problems disappeared. THANKS!
I am having problems when I try to create a link to a file using the following code:
{exp:weblog:category_archive weblog="forms" show="5" }
{entry_titles}
<h4><a href="http://{formname}">{title}</a></h4>
{/entry_titles}
{/exp:weblog:category_archive}
The ngen filed is called ‘formname’. At th moment the link is outputting as http://www.website.com/{formname} instead of http://www.website.com/pdf/title.pdf
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Alli, are you using the FFMatrix in conjunction with the nGen file field, or is the file field its own field type?
I’ve had ongoing problems with blank publish / edit screens since upgrading from 0.9.8 to 0.9.10, which I’m assuming are caused by PHP memory problems (only got 16MB) with the existing file image preview functionality.
Rolling back to 0.9.8 seems to fix it, so I’m guessing I’m adding a feature request to turn the existing image preview off, while keeping the existing image selection on.
Anyway, glad to have one of my “absolutely must have” extensions back…!

16MB is really too small these days to work with EE. I recommend 64MG at least. You’ll run into more problems down the line, especially if you use the forum module.
this is probably solved but for anyone else getting the error:
in the custom fields, when you select nGen as Field Type, you need to make sure to also specify File Upload location – leaving it blank is what throws this error.
