New Extension: nGen File Field for FieldFrame

For all of you looking at the SAEF issues nGen File Field isn’t certified SAEF friendly yet. We’re working on making it SAEF friendly and will release soon hopefully. Thanks for your patience.

UPDATE: I had the wrong server path set!! Sorry :( GAH!

I’m getting a blank CP page when I try to edit or publish.

I’m using nGFF with FFMatrix. If I just use a standard FFMatrix field all is fine. As soon as I select nGFF I get the blank page.

I looked at the PHP memory allocation and i’m at 32Mb.

Any help appreciated.

Hello again… i’m back :(

When I upload an image there is no thumbnail created. There is a ‘thumbs’ directory but no thumbnails.

I’ve looked at the CP code with Firebug and it looks like this

You’ll notice here that A) There is no ‘thumbs’ directory in the path and B) There is no thumb image referenced

I’m sure it’s something i’ve done wrong but I can’t track it down…

Any help?

@Traverse humor me for a moment, can you delete the thumbs directory from a ftp program and recreate it and 777 the permissions, then try the upload again. Let me know if that works.

@dvancouver - WOW! That got it! Not only did it work but simply visiting the individual entries edit pages generated the missing thumbs retrospectively - bizarre but great!

Glad to help:) I had that one taking for a ride a week ago and figured out it was the ownership of the directory when made by the extension or any for the matter. I love when stuff works:)

I’m having MSM issues with the thumbnails and links. I can access the images from the dropdown, but the image paths of site 2 are using the site path from site 1. They’re on different subdomains.

Edit: I set up a masked control panel page on the same subdomain and that resolved the issue.

I’m new to Brandon’s FieldFrame, but I’m really excited about using it in tandem with this extension. I’ve been having issues with MH File, and this seems like an awesome alternative to that. I’m stoked. I have a question regarding MH’s File.

I have a site which uses MH File to hold single files in each field. It is possible to replace MH File with this Field without losing the data?

@joshclark17 I asked that questions twice and got no answer, so I did a test and I can say it was a seamless transfer for me. I hope the same goes for you.

Yep for single file fields it works great. That’s what the latest update was for. nGen did a great job and I was able to convert an MH field with thousands of entries successfully.
