Greetings,

I’ve made a slight modification to Snitch so you can send emails to Member Groups. Everything else is still the same. You can read the documentation here: http://brandon-kelly.com/apps/snitch

Yes, I have asked permission from Brandon.

Yes, all credit still goes to Brandon.

Hi Cody,

Thanks for this one. I did try it out last night after you PMd it across although I should have gone to sleep but for some reason it wasn’t sending any notifications anywhere. This was on a localhost install so don’t know if that would have been the problem or not. Will try today on a real online server and let you know what I get.

Thanks again for converting this one.

Best wishes,

Mark

Mark,

Are you able to send any other emails from your localhost install? I.E. use the communications tab to send emails? I haven’t changed anything different in the part that actually sends out the emails. I’m guessing it’s because you are on a localhost install 😉.

Hi Cody,

Yep the localhost does send e-mails so not too sure what is wrong but will try on a real server when I can and let you know what I find out.

Best wishes,

Mark

Very quick update for you. Just tried on a brand new install of ExpressionEngine 1.6.7 and the version you PMd through last night works fine but the newer named one doesn’t. If I try to go to the settings page then I get a blank page. I tried these on two different installs so that they wouldn’t interfere with each other.

Sufficed to say I’m not sure what’s wrong with the new one but the old one does now indeed work. I must have an extension conflict (again 😉 ) somewhere in the system I was testing this on.

Best wishes,

Mark

Okay….I’m having the same problem with a 1.6.7 install as well. 1.6.6 is working fine ><. Would you be able to PM me back the modified version I sent you? I can’t figure out what’s wrong with the version in the original post of this thread 😕. So I need to start over with the one I sent you.

I’m getting the same error… :(

I’m running EE 1.6.8 Build 20091002 on a Windows machine with Apache.

Sending Emails through the Communicate Tab works though… I just want to notify my registered Users via Emails every time, a new Entry was added.
