BN *Title Field Label Changer 1.0.2

This Expression Engine extension allows you to change the *Title field label text on publish and edit weblog pages on a per-weblog basis.

My clients eventually ask whether the text in the *Title label can be changed to something more descriptive and suited to the particular purpose. For instance: *Job Opening, *Street Address, *Lamp System, or *Sku Number, etc. This extension will allow you to change the *Title label text to whatever suits you.

This extension changes the *Title label non-destructively, only changing the appearance of it on the backend using JavaScript. This does not affect SAEF forms.

I hope you find this useful. See attached files.

======= UPDATE ============= Sorry about those bugs guys, they should be fixed now. It’s weird, I have this installed on two totally different systems, and neither one reported those errors. I must have error reporting turned off in my sandbox for some inexplicable reason, but I can’t imagine why the other system didn’t report that error. Oh well, whatever. Let me know if you experience any further issues.

======= Update 2-17-10 ======= Minor bugfix update. Should be MSM compatible, now. I think the last few versions have been MSM compatible, but I’m not sure if we released them. So here’s a minor update that’s definitely MSM compatible.

File updated below.

This has been one of the little nuisances I’ve had since I started using EE and practically any other CMS actually. I know it’s just a visual thing, but it makes publishing just seem to make more sense.

Thanks for the contribution! Installing now..

UPDATE: Not sure if this is something on my end, but when I go into the settings page, I’m getting some issues relating to LG Addon Updater:

Notice: Undefined variable: check_for_udpates in /home/stuff/domains/domain.com/public_html/system/extensions/ext.bn_title_changer.php on line 501

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /home/camerahi/domains/camerahive.com/public_html/cybertron/extensions/ext.bn_title_changer.php:501) in /home/camerahi/domains/camerahive.com/public_html/cybertron/extensions/ext.lg_htaccess_generator_ext.php on line 672

I am also getting these problems in the Publish/Edit pages as well. It could be on my end, but hopefully you can diagnose it.

Something wrong with check_for_extension_updates option

Notice: Undefined index: check_for_extension_updates in D:\Programs\XAMPP_1.6.7\htdocs\system\extensions\ext.bn_title_changer.php on line 449

But if I go back and try the entry page, title replacement is working fine!

Was wondering if this can be made to work with SAEF?

Just change the following in your SAEF:

Title

<input type="text" name="title" id="title" value="{title}" size="50" maxlength="100"></p>

Change the word “TITLE”
