Hi Milan,

EE 1.6.8 + User 2.0.7 + SL Mailchimp 1.1.0 = still no luck

I don’t know what to suggest here, as I can’t reproduce this problem at all. Does everything work fine when using the built-in registration process?

If you can provide me with some login details for EE & MC, I’ll try to track down the issue. I’m stacked with work at the moment though, so I won’t be able to have a proper look at this until next week at the earliest.

Cheers, Stephen

Hello All.

Hopefully this won’t be a stupid question. I have just upgraded my MailChimp to the latest version : SL MailChimp Subscribe v1.1.2 (following all instructions for files into extensions and language folders etc).

I am running EE version 1.6.7

Now I get this message at the top of the MailChimp Extensions Manager / Settings page within my EE Control Panel

Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /kunden/core/homecore/extensions/sl_mailchimp_subscribe/utils/MCAPI.class.php on line 1522

Can anyone help me with what this means ?????

Hi Alison,

Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /kunden/core/homecore/extensions/sl_mailchimp_subscribe/utils/MCAPI.class.php on line 1522

Hm, the error is being thrown by a line in the official MailChimp class, that I just bundle with the extension. I’ll try to recreate it, and see if it’s something I’m doing wrong, but in the interim is anybody else having this problem?

Hi Stephen,

Have you had a chance to further investigate this … I am still getting the same script error, also across the top of my website whenever there is a new membership sign up and they confirm their email … unfortunately that means it is revealing my database path …

Any update would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Alison

Sorry for the delay in responding to this, I’ve been away for a couple of weeks. For some reason, MailChimp have updated everyone’s API keys.

If you go to the extension settings page, and click the “Get it here” link in the “API Key” block, you should notice there’s now an additional bit at the end; a hyphen, followed by 3 characters in my case.

Enter that as your API key, click “Save Settings”, and the next time you open the extension settings page everything will be magically fixed.

I’ve made a note to add some error detection code for the next release, but in the interim this should solve the problem.

Cheers, Stephen

Stephen, Thanks for the great work on this extension. I was wondering how involved you’d think it would be to modify the extension to map a “site” in EE (utilizing MSM) to a specific MailChimp list, and then use a hook to register users from a variety of different actions, such as commenting, contact form submission, etc.

Worthwhile, or should I be looking at writing my own extension?

Thanks!

Hi breakerjump,

That would involve hooking into a bunch of different extension hooks, so you’ll need to write a separate extension. Feel free to use the SL MailChimp Subscribe code as a starting point (assuming you’re developing a non-commercial addon).

The only other thing I’d say is that you need to ensure that your members have agreed to being added to your mailing lists, either at the time of registration, or through a mechanism at the specific sign-up points in your site (a checkbox on the comment form, for example).

Cheers, Stephen

Thanks Stephen for another great extension.

One quick question, I noticed in the docs that you state if you want to log errors to set the log directory permissions to 755. However, I didn’t see this log directory in the sl mailchimp folder. Should this directory be created first… or does this extension not log errors anymore?

Thanks again!

Hi Todd,

You’ll need to create the log directory manually. Apologies if the docs didn’t make that clear.

Cheers, Stephen

Hi Stephen

SL MailChimp Subscribe looks excellent - thanks for putting this out there.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to have a user’s email address populate the username field in the member registration form so that I don’t have to get them to fill out loads of fields (I’m currently only using the reg form for MailChimp signup but want the flexibility of giving them access to a members area in the future).

Any help would be appreciated as it’ll allow me to use your extension!

Cheers

Jim
