LG Better Meta 1.7.0 Syntax Error in EE 1.6.7

I’ve installed LG Better Meta 1.7.0 in EE 1.6.7 and keep getting the following error when loading my home page:

The following tag has a syntax error:

{exp:lg_better_meta_pl:template}

Please correct the syntax in your template.

I’ve checked the plugins and extensions folders and all the necessary files are present. I’m not doing anything fancy, just trying to load the default meta values into the page template using the following tag:

{exp:lg_better_meta_pl:template}

This is my first time using LG Better Meta, any idea what I might be doing wrong?
