exp:weblog | custom field with a unique content?

Hi there,
I might be some kind of blind… anyway, short question: Is there a way to create custom fields which automatically checks if its content is unique? (Like SQL ‘Key’).

There is no setting for this out of the box. It would be a good idea for an extension though.
